    Important safety information including dosage, side effects, and precautions of Metformin 250mg/500mg.

    Dosage and Administration

    ・Take 1 tablet twice daily, 30 minutes before breakfast and lunch, or before meals.


    *The maintenance dose will be determined by your physician based on your response to the medication. The maximum daily dose is 1,500 mg.


    ・Always remove the tablet from the blister pack before taking.


    ・Do not take two doses at once. If you forget a dose, skip it and take the next scheduled dose as usual.


    Side Effects

    The following side effects have been reported. If any symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider.


    ・Digestive symptoms such as diarrhea, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, bloating, constipation, and indigestion

    ・Skin reactions such as rash or itching

    ・General symptoms such as fatigue, headache, dizziness, drowsiness

    ・Stomach issues, increased flatulence

    ・Changes in blood counts (anemia, decreased or increased white blood cells, decreased platelets, increased eosinophils)

    ・Liver function abnormalities

    ・Increased BUN, creatinine, CK, ketones, lactic acid, potassium, and uric acid levels

    ・Other symptoms: muscle pain, dizziness, taste changes, swelling, palpitations, sweating, weakness, hunger, decreased vitamin B12, elevated ALT/AST



    If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention:

    ・Lactic acidosis (symptoms include stomach issues, fatigue, muscle pain, rapid breathing)

    ・Severe hypoglycemia (weakness, intense hunger, sweating)

    ・Liver dysfunction or jaundice

    ・Rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown)

    Precautions

    ・Consult your doctor before use if you have liver or kidney problems, are prone to low blood sugar, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.


    ・Keep out of reach of infants and children. Store at room temperature (1–30°C), away from direct sunlight and humidity.

    ・This medication is approved under the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act; however, it is not approved for anti-aging purposes.
