How to use
Inject once daily at any time of the day, into an area of the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Do not inject into a vein or muscle.
Administer at the same time each day. If a dose is missed, administer as soon as possible and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not increase the following day's dose if missed. If dosing is missed for 2–3 days, restart with 0.6mg. For first-time users, start at 0.6mg per dose to monitor for side effects, and if appetite suppression is insufficient, gradually increase the dose each week by 0.6mg up to a maximum of 3.0mg.
For first-time users:
Start with 0.6mg per injection. After that, you can increase the dosage each week by 0.6mg per dose, up to a maximum of 3mg per dose.
(e.g. Week 1 —> 0.6mg, Week 2 —> 1.2mg, Week 3 —> 1.8mg, etc.)
For ongoing users:
Administer the prescribed dosage as discussed with your doctor, and you can increase it up to a maximum of 3mg per dose.
When increasing dosage:
The maintenance dose of Saxenda is set at 3 mg per injection; however, due to weight loss or side effects, the maximum dose may range from 1.2 mg to 2.4 mg per injection.

Common side effects
Side effects include but are not limited to nausea, heartburn, hypoglycemia, constipation, and diarrhea, among others.

Preventing side effects

◼ Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
Your risk may increase if taken with insulin or other medicines that can cause low blood sugar. Be careful not to overly restrict your diet. Signs of hypoglycemia may include dizziness and lightheadedness.
It is also recommended to carry foods containing sugar or glucose, like candy, while taking the medication. If symptoms appear, consume them promptly.
